Ron was the protégé of New York City’s famed trumpet instructor Carmine Caruso, and teaches the Caruso Method. He has also studied extensively with Vince Penzarella of the New York Philharmonic, and jazz greats Lee Morgan, Kenny Dorham and Jimmy Owens.

Ron has been a professional musician and trumpet instructor for over 30 years, has performed and/or recorded with the likes of George Benson, Symphony Of The New World Lincoln Center Orchestra, T.S. Monk, Art Blakey, and is the featured artist on the studio recording “unsung heroes.

Since Ron started teaching in Atlanta, GA in ’ 97 his students are among the most successful musicians in this area. Many of whom have been accepted into Honor and All State bands. Also, many professional musicians from various parts of the country have sought out Ron’s help with issues ranging from getting a better sound to improving range and so on. Ron is capable of passing on real world experiences to the benefit of his students, while keeping the experience positive.

Beginning with Jimmy Owens, Taylor has studied with some of the finest musicians and Educators in music history. The short list includes Kenny Dorham and Lee Morgan. Trumpet technique with Carmine Caruso, Vince Penzarella, and others. Also extremely helpful was studying the music of Jazz greats Clifford Brown, Maurice Andre, Stravinsky, Ravel, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Louis Armstrong and Dizzy Gillespie to name a few. Ron also taught music in the public school system for several years.
