For me, someone who has always been passionate about
music and always dreamed about playing but has never
found the time; Ron's no nonsense approach to teaching
trumpet is ideal. He brings to the table a wealth of
knowledge and instructional expertise and therefore
demands that his students work, AND progress... or else!
I picked up the instrument at age 38 and wasted my time
with two other instructors whose instruction was little
more than tooting on the horn for 30 minutes a week--
no real agenda or methodology. It was flat out lazy.
On the contrary, I am convinced that Ron's balanced
approach is second to none. His instruction demands
that students take a multifaceted focus on all aspects
of playing the instrument, whether that be the fundamentals
(reading music, scales, timing, etc.) or the more artistic
areas such as musical expression, attitude, and spirit.
