Ron K. Taylor (trumpet) has assembled
an aggregation of truly exciting artists to both record
and perform live.
Dr. Gary Motley (piano) an Atlanta
based “Jazz Icon” possibly most noted for his involvement
with his co lead group The Swing Association. His sophisticated
style of playing is both very melodic and inspiring.
Mr. Motley, also an educator, taught Jazz Improvisation
at GA. State University for many years and is currently
at Emory University.
Neal Starkey (bass) is a professor
of music at Ga. State U. Starkey is quite inventive
and with him on the set you know it’s going to be solid.
Neal worked with Freddie Hubbard, Herbie Hancock, Terri
Lynn Carrington, Jon Lucien, and so many others his
resume’ reads like a “Who’s Who” in Jazz.
Woody Williams (drums) though having
his own style, his thunderous rolls, high energy and
intricate cymbal riffs brings Tony Williams to mind.
Woody has a B.A. from AL State, an M.A. from GA State,
and has also worked with many top names, including:
Nnena Freelon, Russell Gunn and Marcus Printup.
Bob Lewis (trombone) a virtuoso trombonist
is a native of Georgia and has a B.A. in music education.
You can be sure Bob knows what he’s doing, having worked
with the likes of Tony Bennett, Gary Burton and Sammy
Davis JR.
Together they make a very energetic and awe inspiring
unit.
